The Naruto Whirlpools are a natural phenomena that are caused by the severe tidal currents due to the difference in the tides of the Seto Inland Sea and the Kii Channel. It is said to be the largest in the spring and autumn when the whirlpool reaches a diameter of 20m, the world’s largest. The most powerful whirlpools are generated during when the current is fastest.
