Otani Ware

Otani Ware is designated by the country as traditional craft, and represents Tokushima with its 230-year history. In Otaniyaki no Sato, there are six potteries which have preserved the tradition. While respecting the rustic texture of the pottery, the potters continue to produce a stream of unique crafts. Why not come and explore your very own favorite pottery? There are also classes where you can experience decorating or making pottery. On the second Saturday and Sunday of November every year, there is a pottery fair called “Kama Matsuri” (Kiln Festival), co-organized by the potteries.
