Ochaen Observatory (Whirlpools of Naruto)

Since ancient times, Naruto has appeared in ancient texts such as the "Nihon shoki," "Tosa niki," "Awa no Mizumon/Awa no To," and also in Japanese poems, such as the collection "Gosen wakashu."
Thanks to a project initiated by Hyogo & Tokushima's "Naruto Whirlpools" World Heritage Registration Council, an information sign has been installed. The sign depicts the scenery of Awajishima as drawn by Hiroshige Utagawa in his Ukiyo-e "Awa Naruto no Fukei." This allows visitors to compare the current scenery of the Naruto whirlpools with the scenery of the past.
In addition, the information board is displayed in multiple languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, German), catering to foreign tourists as well.
