Second Temple of the Shikoku 88 temple pilgrimage, Gokuraku-ji
Located about 1 km west of Ryozenji Temple, Gokuraku-ji is home to the "cedar of long life," which is said to be hand-planted by the legendary monk Kobo Daishi. A wooden statue of Amida Nyorai, which has been designated as a national important cultural property of the Kamakura period, is kept here. However, it cannot be seen by visitors.
