Awa-Otani ware is pottery made in a small pottery town in Tokushima Prefecture , Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture. Currently, Kamigama produces tableware, objects, vases, etc. using Yakishime pottery, kiln change, and ash glaze techniques. The artist works hard every day at pottery making in order to create pottery that he himself thinks is good. Otani ware clay shrinks very much and has low fire resistance, making it difficult to work with, but once you touch it, you will feel its simple, healthy gentleness. Otani ware, made from clay from Otani, awakens memories of nature that people have forgotten as they use it, and at the same time provides a sense of peace.
